ECOCHANGE

The ECOCHANGE integrated project funded by the European Commission (6^th Framework Programme) has been conducted between 2007 and 2012. The objective was to assess and model the changes in biodiversity and ecosystems in Europe. UMCCB participated in this project by performing simulations of the future changes in European ecosystems using the CARAIB dynamic vegetation model. The post-glacial recolonisation of Europe by beech and Norway spruce trees has also been modelled in simulations covering the whole Holocene epoch.
